If you think your activity regarding badge printing has not fully synchronized with the Expo Pass server, follow this process to check for pending data and force a sync.
β IMPORTANT NOTE: This synchronization process is iPad-specific and only updates the data on the device you are currently using. You must follow this process for every iPad at your event to ensure all kiosks have pushed their data to the Expo Pass server.
Step-by-Step Guide to Force a Data Sync
1. Access the App
Log into Expo Pass on the iPad using your Event Owner or Event User email and password.
2. Navigate to Sync Details
Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper left-hand corner to open the main navigation panel.
In the left navigation panel, click on "Sync Details".
3. Check for UnSynched Objects
The "Sync Details" screen will display a list of categories (Registrant, Badge Print, Check In, Scanned Attendee, etc.).
Look for the line item "UnSync Objects" under each category.
The number next to "UnSync Objects" indicates how many data records are pending and have not yet synced with the server.
If you see a number greater than 0 associated with any category, a forced sync is necessary.
4. Force the Sync
If pending data is found, click the "Refresh" icon (a circular arrow) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
5. Confirm Synchronization
The iPad will now force a complete synchronization.
Once the process is complete, the page should refresh. All categories should now show "0" for UnSync Objects and the status should be "Normal".
β IMPORTANT NOTE: This synchronization process is iPad-specific and only updates the data on the device you are currently using. You must follow this process for every iPad at your event to ensure all kiosks are running on the most current data.
β Troubleshooting Note
If, after forcing the sync, you still see a number greater than "0" for "UnSync Objects," ensure the iPad has a strong, stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data) and attempt the refresh again.
Another step you can take is to Force Close the Expo Pass mobile app and reopen it -- but don't log out!
