Occasionally, you might receive instructions to "force close" the Expo Pass app and then reopen it. This action initiates a data synchronization between the iPad and the database.

It's important to note that "force closing" the Expo Pass app is distinct from simply logging out. Specifically for the iPad Kiosks used for badge printing, please avoid logging off the app without first consulting Event Success (SES).

FORCE CLOSE APP

❗ Important: "Force closing" the Expo Pass app is very different from logging out. You do not want to log out of the iPad Kiosks specifically used for badge printing until all data has synced. This can result in the loss of your data that was stored locally on the kiosk and had not synced back to the database.

  1. Double-click the Home button to bring up the app switcher.

2. In the app switcher, you'll see a list of recently used apps. Swipe the Expo Pass app icon up until it disappears from the screen. This action will force the app to close.

3. Relaunch the Expo Pass mobile app on the home screen and click on "Enter Kiosk Mode" to return to the Check-In screen.

NOTE: As your event is coming to a close each day, we recommend to perform a force data sync on all the iPad kiosks before shutting them down and again before beginning the packing process (while the router is still connected to an internet source.
