Event Organizer: Changing your Zebra printer settings on your Zebra ZD620 printer because your badges are not cutting at the correct place is a simple, quick task. Simply follow the process noted here.

On the home screen of the 620, hit the hard button under the Home icon.

On the following Settings screen, make sure the gear icon is highlighted with the arrow keys, press the check mark in the middle of the directional arrow buttons to enter the settings:

Click the right arrow until you get to the two needed settings that you can change to fix where the badge cuts; Tear Off and Label Top. Please do not change any other settings as part of this process.

Tear Off will appear first and when you reach this settings simply hold down the up or down arrow -- see next section in this article to determine how much to change this setting.

Label Top will also appear as another option when scrolling through interface -- see next section in this article to determine how much to change this setting. .

Badge Cut is occurring slightly BELOW the perforation

  1. Adjust the Tear Off to a higher value if the Badge Cut is slightly below the perforation. Ensure that the change is made in increments of "5" to avoid drastic alterations. For instance, modify the On-perf setting from 0 to 5.

  2. Simultaneously, modify the Label Top = Vertical Label Offset to a smaller number. This adjustment should be the inverse of the change made in step #1. The objective is to ensure that the sum of the two adjusted numbers equals 0. If Tear Off was increased by +5, then Label Top should be decreased to -5.

On-Perf badges = Badges with 0 or 2 notches at the top

Off-Perf badges = Badges with 1 notch at the the top

For example, for On-Perf badges, where the notch is on the perforation line:

  • Tear Off from 0 to +5

  • Label Top from 0 to -5

For example, for Off-Perf badges, where the notch is not on the perforation line:

  • Tear Off from 100 to +105

  • Label Top from -100 to -105

Once both settings have been adjusted, advance 2 badges through the printer to see where the badge cut is now taking place.
