Running multiple events with similar badges?
Save time by copying your Badge Print Layer from one event to another — no need to rebuild it from scratch!

Before You Start

✅ Make sure you already have a Badge Print Layer created in one of your events.
✅ You must be an Event Owner or Event User for both the event you’re copying from and the event you’re copying to.

Once your print layer is complete, follow the steps below.

Steps to Copy a Badge Print Layer

1. Log into Expo Pass

2. Select Your Source Event

  • Choose the event that contains the Badge Print Layer you want to copy.

3. Navigate to Badges

  • From the left menu, go to Details ➔ Event Settings ➔ Admin Menu ➔ Badges.

4. Copy the Badge Print Layer

  • Find the badge you want to copy.

  • Hover over the print layer section of the badge.

  • Click on the Copy icon (looks like two pieces of paper).

5. Choose Your Destination Event

  • A window will pop up showing a list of all events where you have access.

  • Select the event where you want to copy the Badge Print Layer.

6. Confirm the Copy

  • Click Copy.

  • You’ll see a confirmation message in the top right corner:

    "[PRINT LAYER NAME] successfully copied."

How to Find and Manage the Copied Badge

1. Go Back to the Event List

  • Click the Home icon (top left corner).

  • Then click My Events (bottom right corner).

2. Open the New Event

  • Select the event you copied the badge into.

3. Find Your Badge

  • Go to Onsite - Design Your Badge

  • You’ll see your copied badge print layer listed — ready to use or edit if needed!

  • You can click on the edit pencil to rename this badge print layer, or make changes.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Trying to copy without a complete Print Layer:
You must first fully create and save the original Badge Print Layer before copying.

  • Not having permissions:
You must be an Event Owner or Event User in both the source and destination events.

  • Selecting the wrong event:
Double-check the destination event before confirming — copied Print Layers cannot easily be undone.

  • Assuming design changes carry over:
Any design updates made after copying will not sync between events. Changes must be made individually per event.
